Doreen Valiente
A site about the life and work of Doreen Valiente, from birth certificate till funeral rite. The articles on her life are presented chronologically: her youth, the 1960s, the 1970s, etc.
Special pages are dedicated to Doreens poetry and her books. I doubt the claim of the Doreen Valiente Foundation on the copyright of ’the long version of The Wiccan Rede’, as I’ve learned to know it in the last decade, since no one really knows its origin and it might be by Adriana Porter. But all in all this is an interesting and informative website about one of the founders of Wicca, or at least a very important person in the wording of Wiccan core texts. Merlin’s Archive
Naast de vele andere dingen die Merlin nalaat, is er zijn speciale collectie van artikelen onder de naam Merlin’s Archive. Je vindt er artikelen over ‘Arts & Crafts’, waarbij het zelf maken van wierook of andere attributen voor de praktiserende heks, maar ook een artikel over magische alfabetten en symbolen. In ‘Geschiedenis & wetenschap’ artikelen over het ontstaan van het tijdschrift Wiccan Rede (prints van de allereerste edities) en de heksencafés.
Onder ‘Paganisme & folklore’ een artikel over ’the Other People’ dat je eigenlijk gelezen moet hebben (een van de artikelen van andere auteurs dan Merlin zelf, en een van de Engelstalige artikelen). En in het grootste deel over ‘Wicca & hekserij’ antwoorden op een aantal basisvragen en een interview met Merlin zelf. Buiten het ‘Archive’ maar beslist het lezen waard, is het artikel ‘Second opinion’ elders op de Silver Circle-site (http://www.silvercircle.org/secondopinion.htm ).
