Dear Friends,
It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that today, the 5th of December 2019, Ko Lankester, coven leader, High Priest, dear friend, husband of Joke, father and grandfather, author of many books, gently passed away, because of irreversible illness.
He was my High priest for almost 26 years and the one who gave me my first and second degree and was present at my third. And he and Joke initiated a lot of others during all those years. Some are still in the Craft, of which also new covens were born, some chose other paths and some have also passed away.
He was a lovely, warm, modest, very smart man with a great sense of humour and a wizard with words. He wrote not only those books, but also all our rituals and a lot more in Dutch, some parts translated, but a lot came from his and Joke’s mind and from their love for the Gods and the Craft. With all this, we could say that a new Gard tradition is born, the Lankestrians…
Of course I write this also on behalf of Joke and of Sven, Faat and Serge, who were his closest chosen-family members this last year..
Dear Ko, thank you for everything! We all are going to miss you terribly! May you rest in Her arms and say hi to those who went before you.
I’m sure we’ll meet again somehow, so Merry meet, Merry part and Merry meet again!
