Wild Ideas – an online exploration of the wild

Last updated 2006, so the News is a bit outdated. But the (1997) articles on ‘The paradox of evil in Wiccan theology’ and on ‘Power in the Craft’ are still very much worth reading. As is, for very different reasons, the article on ‘The Laws of Wombat Wiccca’.

Sound articles by Karen Mitchell, who put them on the internet between 1999 and 2005.

Another site with adds, but with sound information on all kinds of Wicca/Paganism-related topics. I’ve come across this site for some years now, looking for oil recipes or rites of passage or other subjects, and it has never let me down.
Patti Wigington, the editor of these pages, has over twenty years of experience in studying modern Pagan belief systems. She works as an educator in the Pagan community, and in 2008, formed her own group, Clan of the Stone Circle.
Patti gives information in a down to earth style, with links to other relevant articles on her pages and elsewhere on the net. I follow her page now on Facebook, and click on about a third of the links because at least that much interests me.

Lux et Terra
Kunstenaar Luciën van der Eerden heeft op dit terrein een monument uitgehakt: een zonnetempel. Op het vijf hectare grote terrein zijn ook een labyrint, atelier, bos en tuin. Je kunt er leren beeldhouwen of een theaterstuk zien, of de midwinter zonnewendeviering bijwonen. Het domein Lux et Terra in Lierop is elke donderdag van 9.00 tot 19.00 open voor belangstellenden. Robert Morris Observatorium, Lelystad
Net buiten Lelystad creëerde de Amerikaanse kunstenaar Robert Morris (Kansas City, Verenigde Staten, 1931) het eerste Land Art project in Flevoland. Morris ontwierp het Observatorium oorspronkelijk voor de openluchttentoonstelling Sonsbeek buiten de perken in 1971. Morris realiseerde zijn kunstwerk in de duinen bij Velsen. Na deze tentoonstelling werd het werk afgebroken en een jaar later werd een nieuwe locatie gevonden het nieuwe weidse polderlandschap in Flevoland.

De stichting Zonnewende Flevoland organiseert jaarlijks op de zaterdagochtend rond de datum 21 juni het Sunsation Festival in het Observatorium van Robert Morris. Tijdens het festival wordt met poëzie, muziek, theater en beeldende kunst de zomerzonnewende gevierd. Voor meer informatie:

Centrum Athanor

De natuur fungeert daarbij niet alleen als rustbrenger maar vooral als bron van inspiratie. Fascinerend is zeker ook ons labyrint, dat naar oud Europees voorbeeld zevenvoudig is opgebouwd. Het meest markant is echter zonder twijfel onze manshoge steencirkel, die op de huidige zonne-, maan- en enkele sterrenstanden is georiënteerd. Hierdoor is een krachtplek ontstaan waar het eeuwige en het tijdelijke elkaar raken. En waar u als mens door geraakt kunt worden.” Centrum Athanor is ook in onze agenda terug te vinden.
