This is the sort of book you give to friends as a present and end up reading it yourself ! Although this is a slim volume the amount of information Alanna gives is amazing. From a basic description of what permaculture is to Geo-biology and Geomancy.

Her chapter ‘My Irish summer with the fairies’ is a delight to read. Her encounters with Jinka and what she describes ’the green ribbon’ and the realignment of the Willow tree. In fact it was the experiences during that summer (2008) which inspired her to write this book.
Alanna describes how she restored some woodlands to their natural state. Her connection with in particular a Silver Birch is an example of how she really tries to work with the devas.

She gives many other examples of ‘enlivening’ the land. Even for those of us who haven’t got green fingers her story is understandable and inspiring.
